How to set up AEO for a section
Open a section's menu, choose AEO, write a one-line Description, pick an AEO Role, and check the JSON-LD preview.
You need to be logged in with your site open.
Steps
- Click the pencil icon on the right of the toolbar to turn on Edit Mode.
- On the section you want to optimize, click the menu button (the ≡ icon) at the right of its title.
- Choose AEO. The Content Manager opens on the AEO tab.
- Write a one-line Description: one complete sentence that makes sense on its own.
- Under AEO Role, choose what the section is: Article, FAQ, Organization, Person, Place, Product, Review, or Service. Choose None if none fits.
- Check the JSON-LD Preview below the fields.
- Click Save, or Save & audit to save and then check your whole site.
You should see
The JSON-LD Preview fills in with your section's name, description, and role.
Good to know
You can also click Manage, then AEO, and pick a section from the list on the left.
Until a section has a Description, the preview says "No JSON-LD" and the section adds no structured data. The preview shows exactly what an answer engine reads.
Weak: "We deliver transformative experiences." Strong: "Acme Books handles bookkeeping and invoicing for restaurants in Pune." Name the subject, say what is true about it, and avoid words like "it" or "this" that depend on another sentence.
The Content Manager's left list shows your site and its sections. Its Content tab holds Display name, Short Title, Title, Tagline, Description, and Content.
