Editing AEO Roles

Assign one role per section; every item inside inherits it.

Enine Sites assigns each content item one AEO role: Article, FAQ, Person, Place, Product, Review, or Service. The Roles page is the master control panel for those assignments across your whole site.

Step 1: Navigate to Roles

  1. Click on Sites in your top navigation bar.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select Roles.
  3. Your site's pages are listed in the left sidebar by URL.

Step 2: Set roles for your main sections

The default view lists your top-level sections in a grid with one column per role. Select the option that matches what each section is: a services section is Service, a question-and-answer section is FAQ, editorial sections are Article. Items inside a section inherit its role automatically, so one click here covers every item in that section.

Step 3: Review a single page

Click any URL in the sidebar to see the items on that page. Inherited roles show as 'inherits' with the parent's role. You can override any single item by picking a different role for it. Items with no short content are flagged in red ('No content') and their role controls are disabled until a short content sentence is written.

Step 4: Check the page preview

The Preview panel shows the full JSON-LD graph for the selected page: one node per item, connected parent to child. This is the exact structured data the page serves.

Changes save automatically -- the header shows the current save state.

Set the role once at section level and let inheritance do the rest. Override an individual item only when it is genuinely a different kind of thing from its section.
