Creating Your First Site

Your site loads automatically after activation with placeholder content already in place.

Once you activate your account, your site is generated automatically with placeholder content already in place. You are not starting from a blank page.

To begin editing: 1. Open your site. 2. Click the pencil icon in the top right corner. 3. This enables Edit Mode.

In Edit Mode: - Sections become editable. - Images and media can be replaced.

Your initial task is simply replacing placeholder content with your own branding, images, and information.

Identity

Set your title, logo, favicon, hero image, colors, and theme.

Identity settings control how your Enine site looks and is branded: title, subtitle, logo, favicon, hero image, colors, and theme.

Title and Subtitle

Sets the name and one-line description of your site.

Your site title and subtitle are used throughout your site. The title is your brand or company name. The subtitle is a short sentence describing what you do.

To update them: 1. Enter Edit Mode using the pencil icon. 2. Find the Title field. 3. Enter your site title. 4. Enter your subtitle in the Subtitle field.

Content

Create categories, add items, edit copy, attach images and icons, reorder, and delete.

The Content section covers creating categories and content items, editing copy, attaching images and icons, reordering, and deleting.

Categories

Adds a new top-level section to your site with its own page and URL.

Categories are your main sections. Examples: Services, Projects, Blog, About.

Each category automatically receives a homepage section, its own dedicated page, and its own URL.

Click on Sites in the Nav bar.
Click on Content -- this takes you to the Content Manager for your website.
On the left sidebar, the first button will be a (+New). Ensure you select that and not the ones under a pre-existing category.
This will lead you to a form. Enter the relevant information using the Data Entry Guide below.
Click Save.

The category is automatically added to the homepage, given its own dedicated page, and assigned its own URL. You do not need to manually create the page separately.

Field Name	What it does
Name	The internal name used to identify this item in the system.
Display name	The name that people will see on the actual website.
Display plural	The name used when the system refers to a group of these items (e.g., "Galleries" instead of "Gallery").
Title	The main heading of your page. Start here.
Short Title	A shorter version of the title to be used in small spaces, like menu bars.
Tagline	A brief, catchy sentence that appears under the title (like a slogan).
Short Content	A one-sentence summary of this section. This exact sentence becomes the section's description in your site's structured data, so write one complete, standalone sentence.
Content	The main section where you type all the primary information and details.
Icon	A small symbol or graphic used to represent this item visually.
Image	A photo or logo you select from the library to be shown with your content.
External Link	A web address you can add if you want to send people to a different website.
Display Order	A number that tells the system which item should come first, second, or third in a list.

The Golden Rule: Start with the Title. Everything else is optional depending on how much detail you want to add. The page's web link (slug) is generated for you automatically.

Getting Started

Getting Started covers your first session with Enine Sites: signing in with a magic link, and what to do with the placeholder site that is created for you.

Signing In

Get into your account using a magic link sent to your email.

Enine Sites uses passwordless sign in by default.

Go to eninesites.dev/get-started.
Enter your first name and email address.
If you already own a domain, enter it in the Domain field. Otherwise leave it blank.
Select your use case from the 'What best describes your work?' dropdown.
Click Create my site.
You will see a confirmation message letting you know a sign-in link has been sent to your email.
Open your inbox.
Find the email from Enine Sites.
Click Activate & Create My Site.
Your site is created automatically and opens at your Enine subdomain (yourname.e9sites.com).

If the email does not arrive within a few minutes: - Check your spam folder. - Confirm that the email address was entered correctly.

If you want to use a password later: - Open the Account menu. - Choose Set Password (or Change Password if you already have one). - Set a password for future logins.
